We are not our own, the world is in the hands of the evil one, this is the heartbreaking truth with which all people of faith must reckon.

| When we turn our lives over to God, we are rescued from an ongoing war between good and evil. |
Salvation provides protection from the power of sin and effects of our environment in a way that protection from ourselves and others cannot.
In many ways, life can be like a battlefield, we may feel as if we are a captive in a continuing war between good and evil, in these times, when we turn our life over to God, will he protect us and keep us safe?
Zechariah wrote these words five hundred years before the birth of Jesus: “Rejoice, O people of Jerusalem! Your king is coming to you. He is righteous, and yet also humble, riding a donkey. This prophecy was fulfilled in the book of Mathew.
Matthew 21:4-11 (KJV)
All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way. And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
Jesus delivered us from death by shedding his own blood, so we could serve God. In the future, he will bring peace on earth, for now, we can take refuge in him and be at peace.
Jesus lived and died to fulfill God's promise of salvation. We wait in hope for Jesus' second coming to bring peace on earth. The war will end, and Jesus will be crowned the King.
Conclusion:
Regardless of how difficult life's battles are, we can always turn to God and be assured that His love is steadfast.
